Yesterday afternoon I was up to my eyeballs in to-do lists. There was laundry to fold and put away, suitcases to bring up from the crawl space, clothes to pack, phone calls to make and groceries to pick up. I was starting to get a wee bit stressed. But I had just got off the phone with Em, who'd been sitting by the lake at the end of the day, and she inspired me. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and I was reminded of my summer manifesto. And right then and there, I decided we needed to go to the beach. So we packed up our buckets and towels and cold drinks and headed for the seaside. I'm so glad we did. The sun and the sea and the time outside was just what I needed {and the boys, too}, and when we got home again, I was ready to tackle all my tasks a lot more cheerfully.
So sweet! I love that you ditched everything to live a happier life, or one without to do lists. Well, this was on a better to do list, you could say.
