From the moment our plane touched down at LaGuardia, I was in love with New York. It was the most perfect setting for a girls' getaway {my mom, sister and I had been dreaming about this trip for years... and now we'd really arrived!} and everything I could have hoped. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, and spent five fabulous days in the city. We walked for miles, rode atop cheesy double-decker tour-buses, took ferries out to Liberty and Ellis Island, strolled through Central Park. We shopped on 5th Avenue, saw a show on Broadway, had fancy drinks at the Plaza Hotel. We went up in skyscrapers and down into the subway, and visited a few amazing museums. I hunted down pretty much every film location from You've Got Mail {sigh... I love that movie}, and I got to spend time with some lovely blogging friends {that deserves a post all its own, later in the week}. Mom, Amanda and I laughed and ate and swooned our way across the Upper West Side, to midtown, downtown and back. We made the most of every New York minute. This first batch of photos is from the evening we arrived, and early the next morning as we headed straight for Times Square. Come back tomorrow for more!
We made it!
I heart NY
Each yellow cab gave me a little thrill
The lovely lobby of our hotel
Looking out towards the river, taking it all in
Just a few blocks away from our hotel, I discovered Café Lalo! {this You've Got Mail fan got very excited!}
All set, and oh-so-excited for our first full day in NYC!
