Christmas Eve this year

Christmas Eve this year was lovely. We had a fun-filled lunch at my aunt's house with all the cousins {did you see E & me yesterday?}, and then came home to scatter magic reindeer food across the lawn {to ensure Santa's sleigh would easily find our house}. We skyped with Alan's mum, ate cookies, and the boys put their carefully wrapped presents under the tree. My parents came over to sing carols and wait for the elves to magically shower us with candy. We exchanged presents with them, and the boys opened their festive new pajamas. We hung our stockings, left goodies out for Santa, and then we tucked two very excited little boys into bed where they promptly fell asleep {a Christmas miracle!}

It was Dylan's turn to put the angel on the tree this year

I adore my Christmas village on the mantle... which includes these lovely little vintage trees from my Grandma, and this sparkly new {vintage-style} house from my mom

In the front yard... candy canes and a tree of lights, constructed by my talented husband

Our twinkly tree through the front window

There's my dad with his crazy Santa beard again!

New pajamas, a Christmas Eve tradition since I was their age

Hanging stockings by the fireplace

Mince pies, rum & eggnog for Father Christmas

Santa's been!

Our tree at midnight... blurry, but beautiful

Next up- Christmas morning, which came soon after this last photo was taken!

  1. Beautiful boys, beautiful mantle, beautiful lights, beautiful tree, beautiful baking... & beyond bushy Mr. Byrne! I couldn't love this post {or you & your Christmas festivities...} more! xoxo

  2. holy moly, look at all those presents!! you do christmas right at your house. :) i love dylan's face with the angel. he takes his job seriously. :)

  3. New Christmas pajamas was also a tradition in my house...and new Christmas (usually velvet) dresses for Christmas day.

  4. i love the tradition of new festive pajamas... every year my mother-in-law has given me the button down flannel pajama set and i love it!

    i just adore how festive your whole family gets (a talented husband indeed!) -- even more fun with two boys! :) and your house feels so cozy... it feels just like christmas should. xo

Yay! I love comments.
