I am a huge fan of Suzanne Collins' book, The Hunger Games {you can read my review here}. Such a fan that, when I first saw this trailer, I wasn't so sure about it. Gale and Katniss didn't look quite right to me, and I was in the mood to be nitpicky. It should also be said that I was watching on my netbook, which has a pretty teeny screen, and I think my dishwasher was running in the background at the time, making it sort of hard to hear. Basically, I didn't really give it a chance. However, a friend of mine encouraged me not to write it off so quickly. She reminded me that the author of the book wrote the screenplay, and that the actors playing Katniss and Peeta were both big fans of the book before they read the script. So, I watched it again. And I'm pleased to say that upon second {and third and fourth and fifth} viewing, I am now beyond excited about the release of this movie in March. I got goosebumps watching this. I think you will too!
Have you read The Hunger Games? And will you be lining up to see it on the big screen like me?
I'm actually deep in the second book RIGHT NOW ... and loving it too! Determined to get it done in the next day or two to take Mockingjay to the hospital with me. Excited about the movies as well ... that, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I was impressed with the HG movie previews ... looks not to be cheesy or too juvenile, thank goodness. I couldn't stomach the Twilight books (so badly written) or the movies (painfully bad to watch) so am happy about these.
ReplyDeleteoh yes!! i'm reading catching fire, too, right now! lol and the preview gave me a happy shiver. excited!!!
ReplyDeleteI must have missed these books! I can't wait to read them and see the movies!
ReplyDeleteI am unsure about the trailer, it seems a little vanilla to me. I think I need to wait and see the whole thing, I am still really excited about it though.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. Love the series and I'm excited for the movie to come out. I only get into the theater about twice a year (we won't pay $10 a piece to see just anything) and this is one of the movies on my list! I'm not sure how I feel about it either. This is a book that I feel will be hard to transfer to the screen in the sense that there's a lot of internal dialogue and background to Katniss. Still exciting to think about how they'll convey that on screen.
ReplyDeleteMegan, yes! I know exactly. One of my complaints was that they didn't look "hungry" enough, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeletelove this video! kisses from spain
