Summer afternoons {and a blogging break}

Lettergirl is one of my favourite shops on Etsy. Purchase this lovely print here.

My old friend Monica and her daughter are here from Manitoba and we're having a fabulous time together, she and I and the kids {and Alan, in the evenings when he gets home from work}. We've been enjoying the sunshine and the sprinkler and conversations that last late into the night. The weather has been amazing, hot and sunny with bright blue skies. We've spent a lot of time outside, and this afternoon we're headed up-island for a bit of picnicking, camping and lounging poolside with my extended family. I have a few half-finished posts written, but they're not ready to publish, and I'm too busy packing my bathing suit and sipping my iced tea to really concentrate on getting them done.

So...I'm taking a few days off from my little blog to really make the most of the summertime and the time with dear old friends. I should be back on Monday. Relaxed and rejuvenated and full of fun stories, I'm sure. In the meantime, happiest of summer afternoons to you.

  8. enjoy it...and take more time if you need! these carefree days will end soon and you should soak up every last bit before the busy-ness of autumn begins. that's what I keep reminding myself.
