Happy things to end the week with

It has been a crazy, hectic week full of meetings and paperwork and rushing from one place to the next. I am so ready for the weekend. But first I have to get through Friday. Fridays just about kill me. So, how about some happy things to start the day, and end the week, with?

The boys invented a game called "Go, Canucks, go!" It involves a goal made from pieces of wood, sticks made from, well...sticks, and a giant rubber ball. It is awesome.

Even the onions in our garden are pretty.

A fit of the giggles with Dylan, as we played outside in the sunshine.

 I love our lupins.

First giant poppy of the summer, almost as big as Dylan's head!

Remember when we painted banners at the mall? Well, Sawyer's turned up on a lamp post this week! {click on the photo for a closer look} Now we are on the lookout for Dylan's...

Iced chai tea lattes! Would you believe I'd never had one? Possibly even better than the original.

 Sawyer and I baking brownies. Love our aprons. Nanny made Sawyer's and mine is the one Lauryn sent me back in March {thanks again, Lauryn!}

Bubbles. Instant happiness.

Watching him run, and hearing him call out, "Look Mum! I am a superhero!"

And finally... some flowers for your Friday {as per tradition}. These are from our garden, and are on display on the kitchen table, next to Sawyer's splatter painting.

Happy Friday, friends! Hope you have a great day today, and lots of lovely plans for the weekend ahead. We'll be watching the Canucks game tonight {cheering them on as they return home from two devastating losses in Boston, and praying for a win to put them back in the lead for the Cup!}, and doing our usual Saturday/Sunday routine of groceries, gardening, housework... and hopefully having an adventure or two. I'm thinking a picnic is in order. As long as the sun is shining, the report card writing can wait!

What are your plans this weekend?

  1. Fantastic list of happy things. Your garden looks full of colour and life. And it's so good to see your boys playing in the yard. Plus how great that Sawyer's banner is up!

I'm busy this weekend. Trip up to the sunshine coast to visit my brother and sis in law, that is dinner and a games night. Then church and the two golden hours event and then the lifeline bookfest and maybe a movie ;)

  2. You are so lucky to have flowers from your garden. They're beautiful.

I wanted to respond to the comment you left on our blog w/o making it public, but I've searched high & low for your email address, and haven't found it.

I completely understand where you're coming from and why you were offended. I try to be mindful about the things I say and how it will affect different people, but for some reason it didn't hit me this time. I've editted the statement that had the word "cancer" and wanted to apologize.

Thank you for taking the time to write and helping us out. I'm sure there are readers who thought the same thing as you, but didn't say anything.

    All the best,
    Julia

A picnic sounds like a great idea this weekend as a break before getting down to work. Good luck with those report cards!
