Another year's gone by

It's my birthday today! Yay! I have to work, but that's not going to stop me from celebrating. The boys and I went to the bakery yesterday, so there'll be cinnamon scones on the breakfast menu, along with strawberries, grapes and tea. I'll make at least one trip to Starbucks for an extra-foamy chai tea latte{my friends loaded me up with Starbucks cards this weekend! they know me well...}. I am going out for lunch at a little Greek take-out place just up the road from the school with my friend Shannon, and after work will be heading to my mom & dad's for a delicious birthday dinner. It's going to be a good day, right? And the start of a really great year.

My imaginary birthday is looking pretty good, too. Want to see?

There'll be a pretty table set outside. The sun will shine and the sky will be blue. And there'll be bunting. I love bunting!


We'll have a cake buffet. It's too hard to choose just one cake, don't you think? 


A few balloons to keep the boys happy. It's not a party without balloons. And flowers!

I should probably wear a party dress. You only turn 37 once, after all...

I'll blow out all the candles and make a wish. And, of course, it will come true.


Photos of my "actually birthday" {as Sawyer says} to come when I get a chance. I don't imagine they'll be quite so fancy as these. But you won't mind, will you? I didn't think so! Thanks for being here this past year, all of you. You're the best.

    Have an 'actually brilliant day'. You sound as though work will be interspersed with lots of lovely treats, so at least that will be good. Enjoy your birthday dinner and eat lots of cake!

    ps: don't worry, I am rather accident prone so I always wear a helmet when I'm cycling, and always advocate helmet use to others! I just take it off for photos, when I'm off the bike, because i've got such a little head I look like that guy in Super Mario Bros with the mushroom head when I've got the helmet on!!
