Sawyer and I took a quick trip downtown yesterday morning. It was early, and the shops were just opening. We had a lovely time, and enjoyed the Christmas decorations {Victoria is always pretty, but I think it looks especially nice this time of year...}
I love this building. It used to be a Christmas store, actually! Now it's a fancy pub.
And then we headed next door to Munro's Books. It is sooo beautiful!
Em! I must get this paper to wrap your present in next year, non?
We spent a bit of time hanging out in the children's books section. Of course.
We checked out Rogers Chocolates for stocking stuffers.
My adorable little elf.

Today is less enjoyable. Things are crazy around here. I'm exhausted. Sawyer might have chicken pox {though it's looking positive that it's just an allergic reaction to his ear infection meds... I sure hope that's all it is because I might have a nervous breakdown otherwise}, the house is awash in drywall dust, I found a stack of Christmas cards I thought I'd mailed but obviously hadn't {oops!}, it's freezing cold in here and I can't find the axe to chop any kindling. Sigh. Really not my day... Perhaps tomorrow will be better?
It looks like the festive season is well and truelly upon you. I hope Sawyer is ok, and that your week gets easier, sending you calming thoughts.
ReplyDeleteSawyer is adorable, Victoria is fantastic, Munro's is amazing, that wrapping paper is incredible... & tomorrow is bound to be better.
ReplyDeleteHang in there! XOXO!
Thanks Em. If only you were here to have joined us. I promise not to have cried at Murchies!
ReplyDeleteLove you.
xoxo
Those days are tough to get through . . . but there is always tomorrow. :) And Sawyer looks cute in his Santa hat, so there's that too. I'm jealous of these fancy pubs and want to transport myself to one, right now! Hope things get better for you very soon . . . and that Sawyer doesn't have the chicken pox!

ReplyDeleteCheer up, my dear. Tomorrow will definitely be better. Wish I could have visited that bookstore with you two -- it looks so sweet, as does the rest of Victoria.
ReplyDeleteSigh. I just love Christmas.
Those shops look beautiful and from the peek inside the window inside is just as gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't help but think of this:
"The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
