Snow!

It snowed on Friday night, took a break for a while yesterday and then started up again this morning. It's a winter wonderland out there! So much so that they closed the schools this afternoon and advised people to stay off the roads (which had more or less turned into skating rinks). That sounded good to me.

So we played outside with Cousin Isabel until our cheeks and noses were frozen. We threw snowballs at each other. And then we headed inside for hot chocolate.

It's -8 degrees out there right now, but they're saying that the wind chill makes it more like -15! Thank goodness the dining room has now been insulated (oh boy was it ever cold when the ceiling came down and the freezing wind was coming down from the attic!!!) and there's a fire roaring in the woodstove. Now all I need is some Baileys to add to my hot chocolate... There's got to be some around here somewhere!

What's the weather like in your part of the world?

  2. Oh my goodness, I can't believe you've already gotten snow! That's crazy. I'm ready for the cold, but I don't think I'm entirely ready for the snow...

I hope your boys are enjoying it! :)

  5. That looks sooo pretty, but BRRRRR! A bit too cold for me. We are supposed to be getting some snow this week but I doubt it will compare with yours. Off now to stock up with chocolate, just in case!

  6. Snow, already? Wow. I guess that's a perk of living in Canada. Yesterday it was in the low 60s and sunny here in San Diego. Today we might have a spot of rain. All it ever does here is rain; it never snows.

  7. Look at all that snow! Here in Massachusetts, our weather can't seem to make up it's mind- it's supposed to be in the 60s (Fahrenheit, but still!) today, and yesterday it was FREEZING.
    Enjoy your snow day!

  9. Snow? Oh, I'm so jealous! I'm not a big fun of snow in the city but where I am now is the perfect place. The people here have been telling me that January and February are the coldest months.
Have fun! e-mail to follow one of these days.

  11. Looks like Victoria is the new Siberia! Who knew?

Annecy is a lot more drizzly & grey than Gap ever was. I do miss the blue skies & sunshine. But at least the rain is a good excuse to drink hot chocolate & cozy up with my laptop (hee hee)!

I am really looking forward to the first snowfall here. It's going to be gorgeous!
