That you, Santa Claus?

We took the boys to the mall last night, in their festive pajamas, to have a visit with Santa. Now, as you know, not all mall Santas are created equal. This one didn't have a real beard, which was almost a deal-breaker for me. I considered postponing the photo for another trip, but only just for a moment. Because we soon discovered that this Santa was marvellous! He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf... He sat and chatted with the boys for ages, asked them lots of questions, sang Jingle Bells with them and had them both completely engrossed and engaged. And, as a result, we got a pretty fab photo. I love it. They were reluctant to leave, even after he'd given them each a candy cane and a chocolate elf. Sawyer stood and waved at him for ages and then blew him a kiss. His happy "Ho ho ho!" followed us all the way out the doors of the mall (and probably all the way to the van!) So what if his beard was fake? He was the real deal.

  1. Best Santa photo ever!!! Love the Christmas PJs. Love the little-boy grins. Heck, even love the faux-beard. Ho ho ho!

  2. I get what you're saying about the beard though...if you're gonna go for it, you might as well go all the way.

(So that people can recognize you as Santa everywhere you go, not just at your Santa job!)

  3. Christmas pjs! Great idea. I know what you mean about the beard but they boys look super happy and cute, so well worth it. Last year I kept postponing it because the boys were grubby and then we didn't even get one. Not going to do that again!

  5. SUCH a sweet Santa photo! Love that this Santa, although lacking in beard, completely made up for it in holiday spirit :)

My parents never indulged in the "Santa" play, and I always feel like I missed out! So glad to get to experience it though your little guys! :)
