Yard work

Yesterday, Alan and the boys cleaned up the front garden, hauling away 5 wheelbarrow loads of leaves (and the trees aren't even bare yet!) I ventured out for a bit to catch it all on camera. So glad that I did... I got some fresh air and a chance to watch all my boys in action, comme ca:

How adorable is Sawyer in his toque, toting around the camera and raking up his own little pile of leaves?

He was rewarded for his hard work with a ride in the wheelbarrow.

And then dumped out onto the lawn. Oh, the gales of laughter (mostly from Dylan...)

Back to work.

Dylan was having a marvellous time, grinning all the while.

Even when he was slaving away.

Sawyer wanted to sit on the pile of leaves in the wheelbarrow but when it came time to wheel it around to the back yard, he climbed out...
...so he could help Daddy push it. "I really strong!" he kept saying. And he really is!

Afterwards, I took the boys in for chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and a nap. They slept so soundly after all their hard work. Which was great, because I needed a nap, too!

I'm still feeling pretty rough, so I've stayed home from work to lay on the couch and drink lots of tea. I think it's doing the trick. I'm starting to perk up a bit. Amazing what a hot bath, a warm duvet, hot drinks and Ellen DeGeneres can do for one's health and well-being, isn't it? (not to mention a sleepy chat with one's favourite friend in France...)

  1. Great photos! I especially like the one of Sawyer being dumped out of the wheelbarrow.

Hope you are feeling much better.
