Giving January a chance

I am usually the first person to say how much I hate January. I moan and complain about the end of December with all its festivities and twinkly lights and music, and the arrival of dark, cold, dreary January. But this year, I'm changing my attitude. I am embracing the winter and the first month of this brand new year of possibilities. I just read a poem by William Arthur Ward on my friend Kayla's blog {remember when I went to NYC and got to have breakfast with her and Brandi at Alice's Tea Cup? that was so great...} It is a perfect reminder of my new positive attitude towards my {previously} least favourite month of the year. Here it is...

Another fresh new year is here...
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest...
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!

Amen to that.
