Happy things

It's been a good week here. I have officially retired from my role as co-op preschool president {hurrah! I am going to have so much more free time on my hands now!}, enjoyed some time in my gorgeous garden, had a wonderful long phone date with Em, enjoyed catching up on a BBC favourite with Alan {have you seen Being Human? it's gory, but good...} and I think my report cards are just about done. All happy things with which to end the week. But since I'm on a roll, here are a few more {you can never have too much happy}:

Dylan has recently discovered a fondness for dominoes and card-tricks. This makes for some highly entertaining afternoons around our house.

 I've got a video of this falling down. Want me to post it?

Yes, I'm sad to be leaving my library after all these years. But just think how fab my Mrs Pugh banner is going to look above the blackboard in my new grade one classroom! {merci to my sister-in-law Wendy, for this fantastic birthday gift!}

 Currently over the door to my library office. I get loads of compliments on it...

Sawyer's kindergarten orientation was this week. Can I get a "cutest kindie ever!" over here?

I rest my case. Check out those rosy cheeks! Those dimples!

My mom's cousins from Scotland arrive for a first-ever-visit to Victoria today! I'm excited to meet them, spend some family time together at a big old Father's Day barbeque, and let's face it... I can't wait to revel in their lovely Scottish accents {and resist the urge to start sporting one myself!}

Speaking of exciting visits from faraway, have I told you yet that my sweet blogging friend Gracie is coming to visit this summer? All the way from Australia! Part way through their tour of the States, her husband has a 3-day conference in Seattle. And Seattle is less than 3 hours away from me by ferry. How perfect is that? A plan has been hatched, and we are going to have 3 days of girly fun at the end of August. I can't wait! Meeting up with blogging friends is my favourite.

Two weeks until summer vacation!!! It's so close I can taste it!

    1. Thanks again, Wendy! I really love it. And I must confess that I hadn't given the banner a second thought since writing a J'adore/Back to school wishlist post last fall, so it was such a fab surprise!

      I'd love to see yours on FB...

  4. Okay, so now that you have some extra time -- phone date??

    And if any of your mother's cousins are good-looking, single, and around my age, do pass them my email address and let them know I'll be in Scotland later this summer. Just in case.

    Hope you had a great weekend, Erin! I'm sure those sweet boys of yours kept you busy. And Canada Day is coming up too! I wish I could celebrate with you again!!

  5. Phone date? For sure! I'll email you and we can pick a day later in the week.

    My mom's cousins are in their 60s... They're great fun though, so you might still want to stop by their house in Fife on your way through Scotland :) {can't wait to hear more about that! when do you leave?}

    Had a lovely weekend, and yes, those boys did {and always do} keep me busy. Wish you were here for Canada Day again, too! Maybe next year?
