"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim." - Nora Ephron
I have read several of Nora Ephron's books. I have seen her movies. And I have loved every single one. On my recent trip to New York City, I followed the path of You've Got Mail's Kathleen Kelly {a quintessential Ephron character} all over the Upper West Side, giddy with excitement. I adore that movie, and have seen it more times than I can count {I loved When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Julie and Julia, too...} I think it's safe to say that Nora Ephron has played a big part in my life. She was funny and wise and she wrote strong, intelligent, witty female characters in some of my all-time favourite films. She was definitely one of my heroes.
That must be why, when I read today that she had passed away, I started to cry. What a loss for New York, for the literary and film worlds, for her family and friends and all of us who admired her. The world lost a great writer and film-maker today, and a truly remarkable woman.
Rest in peace, Nora.

Oh I feel for you. I haven't seen that movie still (terrible I know) and it's so hard when someone who is an inspiration has passed away. At least she has made an impact on this world and she will always be a hero for you. xx
