Jetlagged

I had big plans for my first post about New York City {and just how much I adored it}. A post with lots of photos and the stories to go with them. But I'm back at work now, and still suffering from a bad case of jetlag and the post-holiday blues. I don't seem to have the time or energy to put together anything that would do my feelings about NYC justice. I'm going to work on that this weekend, when I'm feeling a bit more like myself again. In the meantime, here are a few photos to give you a taste of what's to come.

Oh, and one more reason I have no time to write a post about New York just yet... I'm going to see The Hunger Games tomorrow night. In IMAX! Can't wait!

I was pretty excited to see this enormous billboard in Times Square last week...

    1. Allison, it's the cafe from You've Got Mail, the one where Kathleen Kelly waits to meet NY152!!! There will be plenty more You've Got Mail location photos... get ready for 'em!

We had the most amazing time. I can't say enough good things about NYC!

    1. It is straight out of a movie (only about 14 years later!)

Oh, how I love You've Got Mail, and Cafe Lalo was only 3 blocks from our hotel! What are the chances of that???

  4. I can not wait to hear more about your trip. I found you blog via the Everygirl and I am loving every minute of it.

The Hunger Games was amazing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I am itching to go back and watch it again. Also to pick up and reread the books.

    1. Thank you! Glad to have you here. And I promise there will be lots more about my trip in upcoming posts!

Loved The Hunger Games. What a great adaptation of the book. I'm in the middle of a re-read myself.

  5. we did all kinds of location finding when we went to NYC, the Friends building, Gossip girl school....brownstones....but never had any You've got Mail spots on the list, also we looked and looked for the Diner from the Tropicana Orange Juice advert and were walking round in circles in the end :( def need to go back!

    1. You've Got Mail was mostly shot on the Upper West Side, where we were staying. I got to see pretty much every filming location!

Also saw the fountain from the opening sequence of Friends, the NY Public Library (where Carrie gets stood up at the altar by Big), the Plaza Hotel (Home Alone 2), the Ghostbusters building... So much stuff is set in New York!

    1. Me too, Kayla! I wish we could do it more often... This whole work/life routine is kicking my ass! But give me a few more days, and I'm sure I'll have re-adjusted. Fingers crossed, anyway!
