'Twas the week before Christmas

Happy Day-After-Boxing-Day! Can you believe it's two days past Christmas already? Where does the time go? I hope your Christmas was as merry as ours was. We had a wonderful time with family and friends, singing and opening presents and celebrating and we are now in serious relaxation mode- sleeping in, sipping hot chocolate, reading books, watching movies, building Lego, eating way too many butter tarts...  I have taken so many photos, I'm not sure where to begin really. So I thought I might start with the week before Christmas and work my way up to the New Year {crazy! 2012 is just 5 days away now!} We were very busy last week, getting up to all sorts of festive fun. Check out all these signs that our favourite holiday was just around the corner...

 So many Christmas cards! {and can you spot the gingerbread sleigh and reindeer?}

 The most beautiful tree in our living room

Making sugar cookies

Baking sugar cookies!

 Pretty new snow globe in the living room {and my cute new Santa, too}

 Speaking of Santa, my dad grew out his beard for the occasion!

 Festive fireplace {le sigh... I just love it}

Santa and reindeer artwork on the kitchen wall

Our tree-top angel finally in place

Next up, photos from Christmas Eve {and an awesome E & me tomorrow}... Until then though, won't you tell me how your holiday was? I'd love to hear! Did it snow? Did Santa come to your house? Have you consumed as much shortbread as me? Are you still on vacation? I hope so. Because I am. And I've got to tell you... it is bliss.

  1. Erin, I love that your dad grew out his beard! He's a perfect Santa. I'm so glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I drove back to NJ and we had a bunch of family over my parents' house. We all ate too much and were desperate for naps by about 4pm. It was wonderful. Then yesterday I got to go on a hike through the woods and wander down by the Delaware River -- just a little bit of perfection. Sometimes I wish I carried my camera with me more, but I'm really glad I wasn't looking at life through the lens the past two days.

  2. That is so cute that your daddy grew out a Santa beard for the holiday! I love all your decorations. :) I'm trying not to think about taking my Christmas tree down, cause it makes me too sad!
