Nothing gold can stay

Photos from an evening walk I took this week

There's something sort of magical about the evening light late in August, isn't there? It's got such a golden quality, and everything around seems to absorb it and then shine it outwards. I love these evenings, and am sad to watch them get shorter and shorter with each passing day. But I suppose the summer has to end sometime, doesn't it?

Okay, now I've got The Outsiders in my head. "Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold."

Aaaaand suddenly I'm back in 8th grade English class. How did that happen?

  2. I've been out with the family today at a theme park and took a beautiful photo of one of the rides silhouetted by a low sun. You are right, sunny days in August are indeed beautiful.

When I get home I must put the photo on my blog, I'm a bit transfixed by it.

Hope the are lots more of these days.

  3. Those are very pretty. You're right. I think summer evenings are just perfect for a walk. I like mornings too as a good way to start my day but they don't have that same beautiful lighting as the evenings do.

  7. It's always amazing what a scene and a song can do to you, isn't it? I think there's something really special about the light from mid-August to late October. Like you could drink it up.
