Well, another weekend is over far too quickly! This one was busy. We watched the hockey game Friday night and went wild when the Canucks won. One more win tomorrow night and we'll be the Stanley Cup champions! {everyone say a little prayer, okay?} We spent lots of time outside Saturday and Sunday, and got a lot of stuff done. We gardened and washed the van, cleaned the bedrooms and re-organized my soon-to-be office. Alan painted my new desk, and I sorted through the summer clothes to see what the boys have grown out of since last summer. I went to the gym a couple of times, and scrubbed the bathroom from top to bottom. We went to the farmers market and to the Habitat for Humanity store. It was all a lot of fun {okay, maybe not the bathroom bit, but all the rest of it}, and I was in complete report-card-avoidance mode! {there's always tomorrow to work on those, right?} Ooh, and we went mini-golfing too. The boys loved it.
French radishes from the garden, delicious in salad
Friday night pizza to eat on the living room floor while we watched the hockey game
Saturday morning walk to the street market
Colourful sock monkeys
So many jams from which to choose
A trip to the garden centre for more soil
Our edible garden, rapidly growing
Bedtime in dino-world {click to take a closer look at Dylan's amazing drawings!}
Homemade popsicles
Sunday afternoon mini-golfing
Inspired by Micaela, I painted my toenails blue to show my love for the Canucks!
The perfect shot
The red peonies in our garden are pretty, but the pink ones are my favourite
The week ahead is shaping up to be even busier than the last few have been. In addition to writing report cards I have staff meetings, bookclub meetings, contract meetings, and student placement meetings to attend. I have kindergarten orientation to do, a preschool clean-up to supervise and oh yeah, that enormous picnic for 100+ people to organize.
Wish me luck, won't you? I have a feeling I'm going to need it!

PS: What did you get up to this weekend? I want to hear all about it...

looks like such a fab weekend! Your edible garden is so big!!
ReplyDeleteOh you had such a busy weekend, I wish I had have got more done like you did!
ReplyDeleteI went shopping and hung out with friends who had come down from Sydney it was really lovely.
This weekend I went to an Opera in an East End warehouse (random, but fun), and to the Afghanistan exhibition at the British Museum. Yay to home grown radishes and stunningly beautiful peonies!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I think it's super cute that you all watched the game together!
ReplyDeleteAND that is your garden??! I'm in love! Noah and his parents bought me containers and plants for a garden for my birthday and yours is almost exactly what I dream mine will be one day!
Look at all of that! Noah's parents garden (for real) out on their land. they have a plot that they dedicate to veggies and the like every year. However, I find container gardening to be very fun and a little less intimidating. Look at all that green!
Last, I think that pirate golf course looks amazing! It makes me miss the beach because that's where we usually do serious putt putt golf tournaments. :)
Looks like a funfilled weekend! Keeping my fingers crossed for the canucks and Jannik Hansen:)
ReplyDeleteYou do so much over the weekend, Erin! I will admit to being a bit lazy and getting cozy with some good books. It was just what I needed after a long week of finals. I got to see some friends as well and consume way too much delicious food yesterday too. And I will say a little prayer for your Canucks. Happy Monday, my dear!
ReplyDeletewow, what a fun time! the good thing about having a dad and husband from massachusetts and a friend in canada? i'll be happy for someone no matter who wins. :) also, my how your garden grows! it's huge!! that is really exciting. will chickens be next? my friend in oakland has chickens in her backyard and loves it. good luck this week!
ReplyDeleteThe garden looks fantastic. As do your toenails! XOXO!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I was in London for a long weekend of shopping on Oxford Street, catching up with friends at the pub & dodging raindrops! Very fun but a bit exhausting too, innit? Just posting a few photos on my blog now.
Looks like a great weekend. Was home alone with my 4 month old daughter...challenging, but fun! :)

Wow you are utterly swamped. I don't know how you do it all. You are a superwoman. Don't worry about this lists. I'm late with mine too and I'm hosting the thing :p haha
ReplyDeleteI hope you will have time to relax soonish.
And yes I loved The Help! Great great book.
What a wonderful weekend! Can I come over for a fresh-from-the-garden salad? Please and thank you :)
