I can hardly believe it, but today is my last Friday with the first graders! A week from now it will be Canada Day {yay!} and the first day of summer vacation. I am so ready to take a break from everything, to just relax and have fun for a while. In celebration of our last day today, we'll be singing some songs, finishing our scrapbooks, watching some fun dvds, getting outside to play at least twice, and making a sunshiney art project from paper plates and painted hand prints... now doesn't that sound like a messy good time? Oh, and there just might be freezies, too!
It has been far too long since I've posted a 3BT, so I thought I'd end with three things I'm grateful for at the end of yet another hectic week:
It has been far too long since I've posted a 3BT, so I thought I'd end with three things I'm grateful for at the end of yet another hectic week:
1. The smell of the salt air and the driftwood as the kids and I stole half an hour at the beach the other evening before bedtime
2. Dylan was dancing in the school talent show yesterday and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever! I may have to post the video soon... {for now, please forgive the poor photo quality of this snapshot... I had the camera in one hand and was trying to get a picture as the kids left the gym!}
3. All the hanging baskets on the main street of Langford~ aren't they pretty? This is the view from the sidewalk café in my E & me post from Wednesday.
And a few more for good measure:
- Being able to vent to some good friends when I am feeling just so frustrated
- The most delicious potluck luncheon in honour of my Auntie Kathy's upcoming retirement
- An icy cold glass of iced tea
- Watching Lead Balloon with Alan and laughing out loud
- Hundreds of books, returned on time and back on the shelves for another summer
- My awesome vice-president at the preschool {couldn't ask for a better "right-hand man!"}
- Our ever-growing list of "things we want to do this summer"
- Fresh strawberries from our garden, with vanilla ice cream~ yum!
- My report cards are done!

Happy Friday, friends! Anything you're feeling especially grateful for this week?

I always love your 3BT posts & this one is no exception. Happy last day with the Grade Ones! XOXO!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Things I'm feeling grateful for these days: tomatoes ripening like crazy in our balcony garden, the fact my parents bought their plane tickets for a visit to France in the fall, a great new student who I think I'll really enjoy teaching & our Friday night homemade-pizza Friday. Tonight it's spinach + mushrooms (sorry) + onion. YUM.
