Kids in the kitchen

Today's agenda includes: baking and decorating a hundred or so gingerbread men, whipping up a batch of kiss cookies and some shortbread, and perhaps attempting some mincemeat tarts {ooh, and butter tarts! soooo good...}

We mixed up all the dough yesterday, Dylan and I.

And we smothered our gingerbread train in candy and sticky icing. Not enough though, huh? We've decided that we're going to add some more this morning.

It smells fantastic in here!

  1. That looks yummy! Did our mince pies and some sausage rolls with grandson yesterday, it's what really sums up Christmas I think. Everyone joining in.
    Have a very merry Christmas and a great New Year.

  2. Now I never did get around to making that gingerbread house - maybe it is one for next year.

    Wish I could join in the fun in your kitchen today, even on Skype would be nice but don't know what is going on with it today - it just never seems to want to connect.

    Have fun!

  3. You guys did an amazing job on the gingerbread train :) I bet it will look even better once you add even more icing and candy! I just love gingerbread cookies. Wish I had some of your baked goodies right about now :)

  4. Fabulous train! Juliette & I made maple pecan cookies today. I would have loved to bake some gingerbread, but France seems to be an anti-molasses zone. Le sigh. Mental note: stick a carton in my suitcase along with the peanut butter & Craisins next time I'm in Canada!
