In our house, we are crazy for advent calendars. We have paper ones and fabric ones (the elves sneak in and fill a pocket with sweets each night!), and a wooden snowman for counting down the days. Last night Dylan and I added to our advent calendar collection, making a red and green paper chain with 25 loops. Each morning he'll cut one off, and watch the chain get shorter and shorter as the big day approaches. He was so proud, hanging it in his bedroom before bedtime!
Needless to say, the boys are very excited about Christmas and all the festivities that come with it {lucky for them, they are oblivious to the state the house is in as we continue with our renovations... I, on the other hand, can't help but feel a little glum that I can't bring out my decorations yet}. They were giddy with excitement last night as we put up all our calendars... and they woke up way too early, ready to start opening little doors and peeking into pockets. I almost agreed with them until I saw that it was not yet 5 a.m. and promptly sent them back to bed!
Anyway, I've decided to join in the fun here on Pughs' News, by posting a festive photo each day {my thanks to my friend Cassie for the brilliant idea!}. An online advent, if you will. Please stop by and enjoy each one as we count down the days until Christmas! 24 days to go! Can you believe it?
Let's begin with this... because it reminds me of the pretty paper advent calendars I used to get when I was a little girl.

Happy 1st of December! Are you excited yet?
I love Christmas, but I'm getting a bit stressed now, because usually I'm done with my christmas shopping by December 1st, but this year I haven't even started yet!
ReplyDeleteHappy December 1st:)
I am sending little elves your way to help with the renovations at night - hope it speeds the process! They will be tiny though!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the photos you choose for the Pughs' Advent - love this one, I have some gorgeous vintage ones saved.
xx
Happy first of December to you, too! I love that the little elves come to your house every night throughout Advent. I'm with Cassie- here's hoping they help with the renovation, as well!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are also doing an online advent calender. Each year I say I will make one but I never do. One day! I hope you have a wonderful Christmasy month!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited my final papers and such are almost done. Thoughts of Christmas will come later. And I love the advent calendar - picture a day idea! Can't wait for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Leyton & I saw an adorable train advent calendar, but it was an actual train & thus a little too pricey for Aunt Carrie to purchase for him. But I would've - they're so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st of December! : )
