A fond farewell to 2010

I've been trying for over an hour now to create a Picasa collage of our year, with highlights from each month. Somehow, what I've ended up with is a collage of thousands of teeny-tiny photos, seemingly every single one on our hard-drive. Gaaah! What a giant waste of time! Anyway, keep calm and carry on, right? I have to actually do it, and not just keep saying it while I find myself getting all riled up about something or other. So instead of our year in photos, I'll leave you with a lovely photo from my tumblr archives and a wish for a wonderful night and a new year full of wishes come true.

We're off to Butchart Gardens tonight to experience the magic of a million twinkly lights, to drink hot chocolates and listen to Christmas music and take a winter walk as a family. Then it's back home to put the boys to bed, to relax and watch something funny, to prepare some delicious snacks, and wake the boys up again to help us ring in the new year at midnight. There will be kissing and cuddling, horn-blowing, banging pots and pans, sipping fizzy drinks, and taking a happy look back at the year that was 2010. Maybe I'll even figure out how to get that photo collage created before midnight!
