Blue

Not sure what's wrong with me today, but I'm feeling rather glum. I think it must be the post-birthday blues. After having so many fun things to look forward to, I feel at a bit of a loss. Today I am back to work and the same old routine, only now I'm a year older. And today, I do feel old. Old and tired (not enough sleep is never a good thing) and discouraged, and wondering how on earth I'm going to get through my run tonight?

j'adore

I'd like to sit at this desk, sip a cup of tea, and stare out this window (at that beautiful view) until all the thoughts running through my head have sorted themselves out. Until all my worries about money and bills and meal plans and being a good parent have melted away and I am back to my old (I mean young!) cheerful self again.

But I don't have that desk, or that view, so this one here will have to do. Perhaps I'll write up a 3BT and return with it later. That usually helps. Wish me luck, won't you?

E xo

PS: I sound ungrateful, don't I? I feel guilty about that. I have a really wonderful life, I know. But sometimes I just feel glum for no really good reason. I get bogged down by the little things. I hope you don't think I'm just being whiny. And I thank you all for listening...

  2. I think I would totally be in a funk too, if I had to go back to work today. There's something about your birthday AND a holiday weekend ending that is just a huge bummer. Thankfully, I'm in the midst of spring break - and in the middle of a big project that i'm excited about.

You have every right to feel blue... I hope tonight brings something for you to look forward to (isn't it a lost night??) and brings a smile to your face, lovely Erin!

  3. Absolutely everyone gets the blues. Don't be hard on yourself for having them today. Definitely take care of yourself. Have that tea, listen to some good music, and know that we all love you! Also, none of us mind if you share a bad day with us. Maybe Desmond will cheer you up? ;) All my happy thoughts to you dear!

  4. Erin dont feel bad about being blue, we all have these days. I had the Autumn blues yesterday so hid from the world in bed most the day. Things will look better tomorrow, i promise. For today surround yourself with things that make you happy.
Oh I did get your card i thought i shared it in my mail post last week but i think i was too excited and put it up with my other cards straight after i wrote back. I will definately put it in my next mail post. I absolutely adored the tea stickers.

  5. sweetheart, i've had the case of the blues for a good past weeks so i get this. I think after something you've been sooo looking forward happens, it's sad thinking that there isn't anything to look forward to in the next days. Goodness, what are we going to do when LOST ends?

    sigh.

    "this too shall pass."

HUGS and MORE HUGS to you sweet friend, with all my love! xo

  6. Giant hug your way. I definitely think we can have some post-birthday blues sometimes. Take a little time for yourself today. Even though it's back to work, that doesn't mean you can't keep celebrating your birthday.
