Two things I love

The Tuesday post "Two things I love..." is supposed to be about things around your home. But we left the house at 7:30 this morning and won't be home again until after my run clinic tonight (at least 12 hours after departure, at which point I will toss the kids into bed and settle down on the couch to watch LOST!) so I hope you don't mind if I bend the rules a bit. I'm going to do two things I love around my library, because that's where I am today! I teach in the library of an elementary school. It's been 5 years since I've started here and I've really made the place my own. I love so many things about it. There are lots of my favourite books on display and posters to let everyone know how much I love Harry Potter, Anne of Green Gables, Narnia, Toot and Puddle... I have a wild thing and a Lily (complete with red boots and purple plastic purse!) and big bean bag chairs to sit on. I have a wall of postcards (seriously! an entire wall!), all sent to me by my dearest friend, Em. She travels around quite a bit, that girl! We're planning to meet up this summer in France. How exciting is that?

Anyway, I digress! I also have this beautiful watercolour print that a student gave to me. She thought of me when she saw it, she said. Isn't it lovely? I love the bookshelf under the big window, the potted plants, and the cat that looks like Small.

Kelly made this little button doll for me the Christmas before last. I think she's just the cutest thing. And I think of Kelly every time I see her. (Ooh, I can't wait to see you in March, Kel!)

So, there you go. Two things I love about my library (which, in a way, is my home away from home!) You can play along, too. Link up to Bacwoods Fern and share two things you love. And let me know, so I can take a look!

Hope you're having a happy Tuesday,
E xo

  2. home away from home... it's nice when the workplace can feel like that and i can TOTALLY see how it would be easier when working in a library. I LOVE that you have such neat touches at work. That print is lovely, an even more special because a student gave it to you.

the buttons doll? oh my goodness, how talented is your friend Kelly? it's gorgeous!!!!

I LOVED your two things! :)

  3. Its fantastic that you can make your office space your own. I share my office with another guy and i am too scared to feminise the place too much.
I love the little button doll.

  4. I love that watercolor print! It's precisely what I would put in my office. I think there's nothing that helps foster a good work environment more than making your office YOUR office.

  6. Love these pictures, I always had such a tiny classroom and it was so hard to make my own. It was really kind of the student to give you that print and the doll is very pretty.
Do you still have cats, sorry to hear about Small?
    xx
