Some of the little things that make me happy:
slippers on a hardwood floor
the crackle of the fire in the woodstove
a hot cup of tea
homemade scones with jam
handwritten letters
parcels
birthday cards
waking up to lots of email in my inbox
my boys in their pajamas
rumpled hair and rosy cheeks
soft skin and sweet-smelling hair
hugs
snow on the mountains
a pink sunrise
waves crashing on the beach
blue, cloudless skies
flip-flops
cupcakes
Easter egg hunts
picnics
the smell of playdough
new crayons
homemade Valentines
newly sharpened pencils
browsing the bookstore
a sandwich and soup in a favourite cafe
a sandwich and soup in a favourite cafe
tea and biscotti
sun on my face through the window
new magazines
lipbalm
bubble baths
pedicures
rain on the rooftops
full flower pots on the front step
the cherry tree in our front yard
lilac bushes in full bloom
bird feeders
I was inspired last night when I read Katrina's post of simple things on her blog, Kat's Cradle. It was just a list of simple little things that make her happy, but it was lovely to read. And, it gets better... She linked to another blog that is doing something wonderful. Soul Aperture will donate $1 to Doctors without Borders to help the people of Haiti for every {simple things} post out there in blogland. Make a list of happy things and help make a difference? How could I resist? I couldn't. How about you?
"slippers on a hardwood floor...browsing the bookstore...scones." this is all sheer love.
