Growing up, this was one of my most loved Christmas books to sign out of the school library. I spent a lot of time in that library and I knew exactly where to find my favourites. I can still remember, so very many years later, which shelf Take Joy was on. Imagine my own joy when I received a copy of my own for Christmas in my teen years (thank you, Mom!) It is a classic, full of traditional Christmas tales, carols and traditions, and embellished with the loveliest artwork you ever did see. I am definitely planning to sit down with it one evening this week, to read a few stories, gaze at the beautiful watercolours of Tasha Tudor, and take some joy in the holidays which are passing by much too quickly.

Looks like one of those old-fashioned books that just holds so many memories. I have one that my Gran always read to us from and it now sits on my shelf, although a little battered and bruised. They re-released it this year and I remembered my old copy instantly when I saw in in the shops. So many memories in those pages.
