Playing tourists

Rubbing the boar's nose for good luck.

Ride 'em, cowboy!

Sawyer probably smelled every rose in the massive Rose Garden. He "oohed" and aahed" and "mmmmmmmed!" appropriately every time, too!

Gorgeous fountain in the sunken garden.

On Monday we went with Kelly and Tayler to the Butchart Gardens for pretty much the entire day. We have been talking about doing this for a while, and I'm so glad we managed to make it happen! I was surprised by how much the kids loved the gardens. They stopped to smell the flowers, admired every fountain (and bench, which I thought was quite hilarious!), climbed on every statue they could, and just generally had a marvellous time. We took a picnic lunch and went for ice cream cones at the Red Barn Market on the way home (the ones at Butchart were $3.50 each!) We walked for ages and the boys slept really well that night. So, all in all, a smashing success, wouldn't you say?
