So, I decided this afternoon that I would make a big, delicious batch of vegetarian chili for supper tonight. Yum, right? So I get out the slowcooker, defrost the veggie ground round, and open up the spice drawer. No chili powder. Hmm, that's odd. Open up the fridge. No peppers. One sad looking onion. I go to the cupboard. No diced tomatoes. No crushed tomatoes. No tomato sauce even! Seriously! What is the matter with me? I am such an idiot! Now I'm going to have to make a trip to the grocery store with two children who go from angelic little lovelies to complete demons the minute they hit the produce section... Sigh. But otherwise my chili is going to consist of one package of veg ground round, a few sticks of celery, and some white kidney beans. And then nobody will want to eat it. Gaaah. Guess I've learned my lesson. Next time I'll look through the food I've got first, and
then decide what to make!
By the way, got any good (simple) recipes you'd like to send my way? My repertoire is starting to get a bit boring and I could use a few tasty ideas!

So I think "idiot" is a bit harsh. How about busy doing absolutely everything that needs doing all at once. Of course they do say memory loss begins at 30. sorry!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you should add an update to this one about how Gramma happened by to assist as if by some stroke of fate!
