After the arduous task of opening 40 presents and numerous birthday cards, as well as taking many overseas phone calls of congratulations on reaching such a momentous birthday, one needs to replenish one's energy with chocolate cupcakes!
Dylan was a great help on Alan's big day, "starting" to unwrap each gift for him (and sometimes even finishing!) and taste-testing the desserts to ensure the highest of quality!

PS: Last night, he shaved the beard (and several years) off! Hurrah! He doesn't look a day over 39 now...
So, where is the pic of Alan sans the beard??? What a shock it must be to see without a beard after such a time.
