Happy things with which to end the week

There's still one more week {plus 3 more days} of summer vacation. Plenty of time for a few more picnics.

Kelly's coming home tomorrow! She's my date to our high school reunion tomorrow night :)

There's a hint of autumn in the air. The arrival of autumn always makes saying good-bye to summer so much easier. It's my favourite season, what with the trees changing colour, the falling leaves, the pumpkin spice lattes...

I'm getting my hair cut today. Thank God, because my bangs are in desperate need of a trim. And I'd like to look cute for that reunion I mentioned, too.

A spur-of-the-moment meet-up with Alan at Starbucks after work last night. Boys were super excited to skip bath-time and go hang out with Dad at the mall. So was I!

Next Thursday, I get to pick Gracie up from the Seattle-Victoria ferry! Can't wait to finally meet my sweet blogging friend and spend a few days together.

Speaking of sweet friends, I got a parcel in the mail from Cassie yesterday, with a book by one of my favourite authors and a package of PG Tips {English tea}. Hurrah!

My blackberry crumble is perhaps the best I've ever made. I think I might have a piece for breakfast.

Happy Friday, friends! What's been making you smile this week?

  1. OK so that may the last time I use 'Surface Mail' - over a month Royal Mail really?? So very pleased it finally made it though and the tea shouldn't be too travel weary hopefully.
    Love the picture, so dreamy...

  2. Have fun at the reunion, can't wait to hear about it. It must be a strange feeling of excitement and a little bit of nerves...

  3. That's so exciting that you're meeting up with Gracie next week! It's always a blessing meeting up with blog friends :) I had the pleasure of meeting up with April from April, Maybe last weekend and had such a great time! Can't wait to see pics of you sweet girls together!

  4. I really can't wait to hear all about the reunion and meeting up with Gracie!!!! i am so sad that she is coming around the time we're expecting to have our Felix, otherwise I would have flown into Dallas to meet up with her. I mean it's not every day she's here from Australia!!! I'm thankful I get to live vicariously through you two ;) and I have a feeling you two will have the best of times!

    mmm Blackberry Crumble!

and CASSIE! oh my gosh, I have to say hello -- it's been awhile and i'm sure there's a lot of sweet things in her life i must catch up on.

    happy weekend dearest!

  5. Oh oh oh hello from Vegas :) It's really not long now until we get to hang out. Can't wait!! It's always amazing meeting up with blog friends.

By the way I hope you have fun at your reunion. 20 years would be crazy. I had my 10 year before I left for my trip and it was so weird. xox

  6. hello friend! sounds like you will be enjoying your last week before school starts. Have fun meeting your blooging friend, I hope that's me someday :O) xox
