Scenes from the weekend

Our weekend was full, from Friday afternoon straight through to Sunday night. We went to the school fun fair and a birthday party in the woods, to Starbucks for cold drinks and 7-Eleven for slurpees. We worked hard in the garden, mowing and planting and watering, and Alan did the most amazing job of designing and constructing our new front deck {it's going to be gorgeous}. We celebrated Mother's Day with lots of hugs and kisses, and a lovely breakfast in bed. There were all sorts of difficult, stressful things going on, too. But I think I'll focus on the good stuff here, and wait for the dust to settle on the not-so-good stuff. Fingers crossed it will be soon...

Bouncy castle!

Lilac bushes in full bloom, and freshly cut grass {this is my favourite little corner of our garden these days}

Iced chai tea latte- my favourite summer-time drink

Isabel's campsite birthday party

Perfect Mother's Day card from Dylan

I changed my mind... Baileys on ice is my favourite summer-time drink!

Front porch in progress

Flower on the kitchen window sill

Sunday evening with helpers... look how far it's come!

I love the detail at the corners, and how it feels like a boat dock amongst the greenery and flowers

Monday morning... wow! We're well on our way to having a beautiful spot to sit and relax this summer. {Thank you, Dar!}

How was your weekend? I hope the sun shone and you were surrounded by the people you love. And that you were lucky enough to receive a bottle of Baileys from a kind neighbour, too!

  1. Happy mothers day Erin! That deck will look so good when it is finished, Baileys on a front deck sounds pretty good to me. I had a very busy weekend but I got to see lots of friends and family so definitely worth it.

    I'm a little jealous of the Starbucks. :)

  3. The deck in the back is looking beautiful!! It really will be a perfect spot for you to relax with some Baileys. And the lilac bushes are beautiful. Some springs I wish I could work my way north as they bloom in different climate zones. Or that I could bottle their light fragrance properly.

    And life should be filled with bouncy castles, don't you think?

    Happy belated Mother's Day!

  4. Your weekend looked amazing. I love that your card from Dylan is a teacup and tea. So perfect for you. I like Baileys too with cute ice cubes like yours.

    P.S. It would be great if you come to Brisbane one day.
