Happy things to end the week with

It's finally Friday. And a good thing too, because I have a horribly sore throat and that awful, itchy feeling in my ears. Quick! Everyone say a little prayer that I don't have some nasty virus, but just a common little cold that I can shake by drinking plenty of tea and sleeping in on Saturday...

Anyway, looking on the bright side, here are a few happy things at the end of one long & crazy week.

 ^ A belated Valentine card from Micaela. Isn't it the cutest ever? Love all the vintage bits she used.

^ Another pretty Valentine, this one from Em. France might be all fancy, but E & I agree, North America really knows how to celebrate the day of love!

 ^ Look what my friend Sheila bought me! It's an overnight bag for all my hair/makeup/bath products. Am going to start packing right away! {3 weeks, 5 days till NYC!}

^ Love all the travel-sized bottles she gave me. I'll have fun fancying them up, as per Bethany's tutorial, and filling them with my favourite shampoo, conditioner and lotions.

 ^ A nice surprise from my friend, Charlotte. She knew I needed this. Definitely putting it to use this weekend.

 ^ My recently acquired reading from the public library. Am loving it so far.

^ Sawyer's latest Lego creation. He set these up so I could get a photo for the blog. Then he proceeded to show me all the fancy tricks the skateboarder can do when he blasts off from the spaceship. Lego is so awesome. {ooh, and yes! that's the Hunger Games trilogy in the background... am about to begin a re-read of book one to prepare for  the movie!}

Someecards. Always good for a laugh. Am pinning this one for sure.

It's Friday evening now, and we're heading out for Greek food {yay! no cooking for me tonight!} and a visit with our favourite barista. After that, we'll come home, put the kids to bed, and get cozy on the couch for the rest of the night. Fringe and tea with honey and lemon are on the agenda.

What have you got planned?

  1. Micaela's Valentine is adorable! So it Em's. And I agree...we really know how to do up Heart Day on this side of the world. :)

    I cannot believe you're at 3 weeks and 5 days before NYC! I'm dying for you to be there already. I know it sounds silly, because we'll probably be the same distance apart, but part of me feels like you'll be a teeeeny bit closer when you're in NYC. :)

    And PMS bath salts? Ahhhh-dore.

    1. The back of the PMS bath salt package says, "The sky is NOT falling. I know it doesn't feel like it, but everything will be fine in a few days. Now, quit rooting through the closet for chocolate and get a grip! Fill your tub with warm water, add these salts and relax." Hee hee! Love it.

      And I totally know what you mean. When I'm in NYC, we'll be in the same country, so that's definitely closer!

  4. :) I'm calling Sheila to let her know that we were both named on your blog. We'll be famous! A good reason to celebrate together over breakfast, don't you think?
