Happy Friday, my dears! It's the first Friday in July and the first Friday of summer vacation, too. Too bad the sky is full of dark clouds and there's a cold wind blowing. I keep waiting for the weather to turn around and get good & summery. This weekend, maybe?
Anyway, it doesn't matter. I'm excited about the weekend, regardless of the weather forecast. Why? Because it's GWOF! Girls' Weekend of Fun! My friend Jess and I started this tradition about a million years ago, back before we were married and had kids. We loved it back then. And now, I have a feeling we're going to love it even more. Why? Because not only will it mean a chance to chat and watch girly movies, to drink wine and eat snacks and paint our toenails, but it will also mean a night off from all of our usual routines and responsibilities (no kids are invited to GWOF!), and we'll even get to sleep in! I can't wait! I'll be off to Jess' place with my sister tomorrow afternoon and we won't be back until sometime later on Sunday. Yay!
As for the rest of the weekend, I've got laundry to catch up on (why? why do I always have laundry to catch up on?), a garden to tend, some letters to write, a pizza and salads to make, some train tickets to purchase (Somerset and Suffolk, we'll be seeing you next month!), an episode or two of Glee to watch, and admission costs to look into (bonjour, London Zoo!) But if I don't get to all of it, no worries... I'm on vacation, so there's always Monday!
How about you? Celebrating the 4th of July this weekend? Whatever you're up to, hope your weekend is fun. Will there be stars and stripes? Fireworks? Picnics? An evening with Jacob and Edward? I want to hear all about it, okay? So start writing!
love, E xo
Woo hoo GWOF!!!! Here we come. We are sooo going to love it more now!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun-filled weekend (well except the laundry perhaps)!!
ReplyDeleteHope the sun peeks through those horrid grey clouds and brings some sunshine to make the weekend just perfect.
xx
I hope the weather cleared up for you guys this weekend! I had a bunch of friends and co-workers over on the 3rd to watch fireworks and barbecue, and then spent the 4th with my family! It was a great weekend!
