Mom, Amanda and I are going to kick off the Christmas season with an evening at the ballet, two weeks from tonight! I simply cannot wait! We will get dressed up, do our hair, go out for dinner and see The Nutcracker at the beautiful Royal Theatre. Afterwards, I think we should stop at Starbucks for peppermint mochas (in festive red cups) and discuss which dancers had the prettiest costumes. It's going to be fabulous, the first time we've been in years. It's one of my favourite traditions, and I'm so glad we're bringing it back. I will never forget the year we had so much snow that Dad had to drive us downtown in the jeep (picture a tiny, dark green, off-road, hunting-in-the-hills-type jeep, and then picture the three of us in our fancy clothes, crammed in there and freezing to death as he drove us through the storm to the theatre!) It took forever to get there (and even longer to get home on the bus), but it was so worth it, and so much fun.
What are some of your favourite Christmas traditions?
Don't forget Allison was stuffed in there with us!
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE this production of the Nutcracker. It is far more amazing than any of the others we've seen. The costumes are phenomenal, and the live symphony just makes it! I am beyond excited!!!!
Sniff..memories of two little girls and the magic of christmas lit up in their eyes! It all goes by too quickly.
