Book of the week
This week we are loving (all over again) Curious George's Neighbourhood. Dylan got it as a gift when he was about 6 months old, we read it continuously for about a year, and then it sat on the shelf in our library for a while. Now Sawyer has discovered it and the fun has begun again. We love lifting the flaps to discover what's hiding underneath. Finding the worm in the flower beds and the trash can is always a hit, and we love looking all through the park for the missing puppy. I especially like this book because it hasn't got the usual bit where George messes up and has to listen to a big lecture about how he really should behave. Rather, he just wanders through the neighbourhood with his friend (you know, that man who only has one colour in his wardrobe!), saying hello to people and having fun. We are reading many books this week, but this is my top pick. You just can't beat the classics...

I'll have to keep an eye out for this one for McLean. Book of the week would be agreat regular addition to your blog! Thanks for this suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI hate the lecturing George part. I mean, what do you expect? You go into the jungle, poach a wild monkey and then get mad when he calls the fire department. Really, who are these people!! "Modern" George is much better :)
